Each round in this case fires a light 115 grain full metal jacket bullet at a muzzle velocity of 1,150 feet per second. This results in relatively mild recoil and typical 9mm Parabellum ballistics.

Tula ammunition is loaded in Russia using non-corrosive Berdan primers. The cases are not reloadable, but have polymer coatings for dependable feeding and ejection.
